MAKEEN and Saudi Railway Company Sign MoU for Engine Supply and Service Partnership
Saudi Engines Manufacturing Company (MAKEEN) and Saudi Railway Company (SAR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant milestone in strengthening the Kingdom’s growing railway infrastructure and maintenance capabilities.
This strategic cooperation encompasses comprehensive solutions for SAR’s engine and machinery needs, including the supply and maintenance of mtu engines and machinery, the provision of after-sales services, and the supply of spare parts for new and existing mtu engines in the Saudi Railway fleet. The MoU also covers the supply of mtu high-speed engines to meet SAR’s operational requirements, reflecting MAKEEN’s commitment to fostering local and reliable support for SAR’s expanding transportation network.
In addition to supply and service, the MoU highlights the intention of both companies to explore scenarios for long-term maintenance agreements that would enhance operational efficiency and sustainability within the Saudi railway sector.
